I haven’t lived a great life but I turned it around and cleaned up. I cut off all the negativity from my old neighborhood and family members. But Friday I was released from a job because a coworker that I don’t get along with did a full background check on me and found out that I’m related to known gang members and through this person, I even found out one cousin was arrested for murder and another for statutory r***. I live 2,000 miles from these people and haven’t talked to them since we were teenagers in the 2000s but their actions made my boss think I’m a liability and let me go. My last ‘troubles’ were in 1999 when I got caught in a stolen car trafficking narcotics back home in New Mexico. After my probation was up, I moved away, go my GED, went to community college in Iowa, university in Illinois graduating on the dean’s list. Went back to New Mexico solely to get my record expunged. Then moved to to where I am now.
It s**** that people will do stuff like this to damage people who are try and are doing what they can to clean up their acts. But I’ll be alright, I made investments have savings, and have a great resume so it won’t take to long.
