I have zero desire to have a job or do anything

I’m 25-years-old and since dropping out of college 5 years ago, I have done nothing besides browse the internet and go for walks.

I don’t feel guilty or ashamed of doing nothing. I don’t want the luxury add-ons in life like vacations, the newest clothes, cars or other materialistic things. I’be always been frugal with money and I get on just fine on social security.

I know that most people would think I should feel ashamed of my situation or that I should question my morality, but I just don’t. I suffer from depression and low self-esteem (nothing to do with the fact I’m unemployed but rather about my body and appearance).

I am not competitive in the slightest and have no ambition or desire to earn money. I just like sleeping, browsing the internet and going for walks when everyone else is at work.

Sometimes I wonder if work is something of a social capitalist construct. Something to give the worker bees something to do.

I don’t subscribe to that idea and due to my lack of interest in costly things, any incentive to work is lost for me.
