I wish that I wasn’t such a p****.
Just be more brave!
You know that feeling as you walk away having said nothing, yet you let it happen time after time.
Cursing the self-inflicted melancholia as the cycle inevitably starts again.
All it would take is one well placed word, to release you from this purgatory of cowardice, yet you’re turning away again, brandishing that familiar fake smile that smacks of regret and disappointment.
How long will the fear of rejection overpower the need to know?
You red b******.
To lose a friend or to lose my mind,
If telling you wasn’t so hard then I’d know this wasn’t real. I know it’s real because you make me lie; to the both of us, though thinking of you hurt makes me shudder.
I know how I feel, you know how I feel, I know you know how I feel, but that’s not enough. It hasn’t been enough. And it won’t be unless the words leave the back if my throat and become tangible, out there into the night air, awaiting review.
Maybe it’s for my own good, maybe I’m in the dark because you put me there; shielding me, protecting me from the harsh light of truth. Letting me go on in unblissful ignorance of a response that would silently and internally pummel the wind out of my sails.
One thing is for sure, this simply can’t continue. It’s torture being with you, but that’s the only time I can think of other things. I need you to know that I can no longer be your friend, though we stopped being friends a long time ago. No me aguanto mas.
And although you may never see this, this will be our last correspondence. A cowardly goodbye I know but that’s the reason we’re here.
My disappearance from your life may seem cold but I pray somehow you know that it’s anything but. I don’t deserve you. In any capacity. Sorry.
Shine
