I haven’t seen or heard from my ex since Monday and I’m not really all that sad about it. I moved out because he wanted to treat the relationship like he was the parent and I was the child. I’m a grown woman with kids. I don’t need to have different rules or be punished just because something I said or did irked him in some way. He was always trying to control me and everything about me. We missed each other when I moved out though and tried to hang out but he couldn’t get past not being able.to control my every move anymore. He didn’t see me as an individual with my own likes, desires, dreams, goals and ambitions. He also didn’t like it that a lot of people I met through him were still talking to me and that I was being invited out by them for fun stuff. He has to be number one in everything. The last time I saw him, he called me a c***. I got out of his truck and shut the door firmly and assertively. No goodbye, nothing. Walked straight to the front door and he squealed the tires as he took off. I guess that was supposed to scare me but I didn’t even look back. I felt nothing. I think the sad fact is about our whole relationship is that he needed me more than I needed him, even though he desperately wanted and did everything to make me believe the opposite. I’m free of him. Free. And man, does that feel good. Movin’ on! 🙂
