I’m a 25-year-old guy and I live with my 54-year-old mother, my mum’s 20-year-old boyfriend, his two friends (guys aged 21 and 20) and her best friend (who’s 49 and I’ve been dating for a year) and I couldn’t be happier.

When my mum booted my dad out to move this guy in last year I felt pretty pissed off but it’s the best thing that’s happened. They seem so happy together and it’s great to see mum so in love with this guy who I’ve become really close friends with who really looks after and cares about her. I’ve never seen mum so happy or indeed so loved up.

It also forced me to confront my feelings that I’ve always had for her best friend and now I’m also with someone I really love too.

At weekends mum will invite her girlfriends over and her man will invite his friends over and we all get together and party. It has brought us all together and made us closer and the relationship between me and mum has never been better.
