While in his car, a good friend of mine recently confessed to me how he had fallen for me after we were out all day in town. It was quick before he dropped me off at the subway station.
I just sat there in the seat and kind of shrugged it off. I didn’t know what to say or do. It was probably obvious I heard him.
I felt like I hurt him in some way. He said it was hard to admit, I love how he out and said it, yet I said nothing to him.
Nothing like that has ever happened to me before.
I like him a lot as a person, but I’m just really afraid of commitment and relationships.
I’ve always considered myself as the “aromantic” type, but maybe I’m just lying to myself.
My problem is that I avoid the subject so hard. I can’t understand how someone can like me in any way, even as a friend. I feel I’m a horrible person. Anything I say comes out wrong to me. It’s all in my head; I’ve brought it up to a few people who haven’t noticed anything.
I’m generally an unhappy person, and it only gets worse when I realize how normal my living situation is now because I then feel I have nothing I should feel bad about. I’m just a selfish a****** with zero social skills.
Anyway, it was not brought up again. I somewhat want him to bring it up so I can expand on it I guess? Make up for what I didn’t say the first time, but then I’m terribly afraid of confrontation to the point of nearly panicking.
