I wanted to work things out with my ex. I was with him for over 5 years and he demanded all of my time and everything I did, nothing was good enough. We see each other a couple times a week now, mostly it’s s**- GREAT s**. But he’s back to bitching that he ‘needs more attention’ . He was with me for five years. He HAD all my attention and it wasn’t enough. I couldn’t do anything or go anywhere without him. It was like I was his possession. And now I’m away and it’s like he’s starting the same s*** all over again. I can’t go back to that. I literally can’t. In the beginning, we talked about his going to counseling because he readily admits he knows something is wrong with him. But now it’s like the monster is creeping back in. Something that he can’t break free of. It makes him want to own me again- and that’s not gonna happen. He needs help. Everyone else around him doesn’t care but I do, whether I end up staying in his life or not. In my opinion, when you love someone, you want that person to have the best quality of life possible. I don’t know how he ever will without learning to deal with his issues. He needs help from a professional and his so-called friends and family just turn their heads and let him slide deeper into the rabbit hole. I’m angry at them for this, because regardless of who he is and what he’s done or hasn’t done, he still has the right to a good and healthy life. But I can’t do it. Can’t go back to whay it was. I still care but he has worn me out. He needs a professional. It s**** when someone you love gets lost to mental illness. Because I love him, I do. But I have no strength to offer for the battle. I’m spent.
