I see, hear, feel the presence of things that are not there. To other people of course. It all started when I was 10. I had known my house was haunted well before any of my family had started to notice. I would see black shadows move in the corner of my eyes and just like any other story, nothing would be there. Dark mists being reflected off my mirror, darker than my room with the lights out.
One day I was with my little sister. I was about, hmm 13 She had happened to toss her stuffed animal off the bed as I was trying to get her to take a nap. I leaned over the side and looked up into the full length mirror on the wall( it reflected the hallway and the doorway). What I had saw horrified me. A boy, probably 16 stood there on the threshold, staring at me. He was tall, maybe 6 ft and he was glaring. Beside that obvious observation, he was cut on his head, bleeding down his once white t shirt. What frightened me more was how intense his dark eyes looked staring at me. I quickly turned around on the bed, to confront him and no one was there. Nothing was in the hallway, no blood, nothing. I looked at my dad who was on the computer to see if he noticed anyone, but alas he was to into searching for a new house to notice it seemed.
As that year went on, I would see more and more shadows. I would also feel a weird, warm sensation run up and down my back while I tried to sleep on my top bunk. Almost like someone was rubbing it. Breathing could be heard in front of me as I hid underneath my blanket. I knew it was nobody in my family, no one was tall enough to reach me without stepping on the bottom bunk and when someone did step on that bunk you would hear it. You could literally feel the static in the room as I waited for it to go away so I could sleep finally.
This happened up until the time we moved to the new house. I thought that when we left we would be done. Nope. As I we stopped at my old house one more time to get the last of the things in the garage, I saw him again. I was in the driveway turning to go back into the garage when I glanced down the hill towards the street. There, in the middle of the yard, he stood, glaring and clenching his fingers into fists.
Instead of his red shirt and jeans, he was wearing all grey everything. What terrified me more that his eyes were all black now and he looked ready to kill. I quickly broke the gaze and ran into the garage getting the boxes into the car and waited there until my mom had locked everything up. As she got into the car, I bravely looked to where he was standing and found, as always, he was gone.
During the I lived in that house, I learned the boy was a teenager who died in a car accident years ago. His name was Ryan and he was furious. His family had sold the house after he died and I guess he never got over it.
Flash forward to when we were living in the new house for a month or two. My sister, who has never actually seen anything like me before in her life finally experienced what I went through. The one day during the dreadfully long summer, she had sat up at 3 in the morning clearly woken up from something. She looked down the hallway and saw a figure standing there, all black. She couldn’t make out a face, but she felt how scary he was. She closed her eyes tightly, pulled the blanket over her head and was back asleep. When she told me the next day, she described it as surely a dream, but that, I don’t think, was true.
From then on nothing big happened. Sure there were creaks and some bumps in the night, but nothing as bad as before. But it began to build up, just as before. Soon the activity was back, but now other people in my family noticed. But they were in doubt.
It’s 2013 and I am writing this right now as the clock is turning to 6:36. These past 2 months have been some of the worse with this new activity. I think it might be because we added another child to the family( a foster child, teenage boy) or maybe it felt it was time to disturb me.
Whatever the reason, the shadows came back. I could now seem them in broad daylight, while I wasn’t at my house. For example, while I was at the bus stop in the early dawn light, I saw a man walk behind a bush. No biggie except he was fully black and nobody was behind the bush when I checked.
I also saw someone, in the reflection of the dark tv, walk around the hallway by the stairs. I went to investigate only to see no one was up there in the first place. I also hear people running up and down the stairs when no one else is home. This isn’t very often, since the 6 kids(including me), 2 adults and 1 foster kid are always about. But it happens and it scares me.
Also I’ve been feeling the static again in my room as I try to sleep. It only happens when my sister isn’t there and when it does, it scares me just as before. I’m not crazy. All these bumps, shadows, people, noises are here. And I see them more than the regular teenager, (I’m only 15). This is my confession.
