I am LGBT, but I hate when people make their s******** their only personality trait. I have a person in my friend group who will literally never have a conversation that doesn’t at some point involve how gay she is. It drives me insane. I’m happy she’s proud of it, but I wish she had other things to talk about. She hates it when other people draw straight art, especially of characters she likes, and she will critcize them for daring to think that some character she likes and does not own could possibly be straight.

  • This. Thank you for saying what I could never put into words. I don’t mind you being gay, lesbian, bi, etc. Once I know it and tell you I accept you and still love you, you don’t ever have to bring it up again. Like I don’t keep saying I’m heterosexual in every conversation. Maybe more people would be accepting if they didn’t make their sexuality the center of everything.

  • I’m a lesbian and I actually avoid mentioning it most of the time because people often make a big deal out of lgbt people talking about their sexuality all the time. But people take that too far as well, some people complain about you mentioning that your gay even if its in a scenario where its completely necessary to mention it, we shouldn’t just not be allowed to ever mention it.

    • Mention it when it’s appropriate. Just not every minute. Be proud of who you are.
