I am a huge kleptomaniac. I have become addicted to stealing. It gives me a rush to know I get away without being caught. I have stolen things from $1 up to $300 and it scares me and I always say I’m going to stop but I just can’t. I think it stems from me growing up so poor. I do work for most of the things I have. I know the value of a hard earned dollar. Sometimes I just see something that I need/want and I won’t be able to afford it so I take it. I steal makeup because I can’t afford it. I steal food sometimes when I’m hungry and don’t have cash. I steal clothes so I can look nice for my job interviews because I couldn’t afford them otherwise. I’ve not ever been caught and I feel like it is just a matter of time before I do. I steal mostly with my best friend who is also poor. I can’t talk to anyone but him about it for fear of being caught or getting judged. I try to justify my stealing because of corporate america and how much money they make, and that I’m so poor, and socioeconomic reasoning but realistically I know I am in the wrong.
