I love you.
Not in a cheesy, over-romanticized way. Not in a head-over-heels, heart-racing, world-spinning way. It’s different than that.
When I say that I love you, I mean that I want to invest more than time spent together and shallow words into our friendship. I mean that I see the incredible person you are now, and I want to help you become all that you will be. I see your character – your quiet strength, your gentleness, your kindness, your insight, and your reserved passion. I see a strange and brilliant beauty in you that is like nothing I’ve ever encountered.
But I know that these are words I could never tell you.
I hate that I care too much.
