People who think taxing billionaires even more will somehow fix our problems have never actually taken even 30 seconds to think about what they’re asking for. Let’s take Bezos specifically. Here’s a few truths that people don’t seem to want to understand:

1. Bezos has already paid more taxes than pretty much any American who has ever existed. Not to mention the taxes paid by Amazon employees and the Amazon company

2. Bezos changed the entire global economy by creating Amazon. He created a company that provides invaluable services to people around the entire world. Idiots froth out at the mouth telling him to pay his fair share, meanwhile they’re using the services he helped create daily. Have you ever stopped and thought about how he has already contributed to the world without having to hand over all his wealth to a government that would surely squander it all?

3. On top of creating the companies he did to change the world, he has pledged to give away hundreds of billions of dollars in charitable donations in his lifetime, and has already given away billions

4. Wealth and prosperity is not created by penalizing the smartest and most successful of us. It’s created by rewarding them. Incentives matter far more than most people realize. They don’t realize this because they don’t really think at all. The most prosperous Nations on Earth are the ones who let their citizens freely do business

5. The government is beyond inefficient. They can’t accomplish anything properly while spending inordinate amounts of other people’s money. Why do you think giving them even more money would somehow result in an improved world?

6. You’re not a “bootlicker” for not wanting to steal money from billionaires. You’re actually a sane person who thinks the government has no right to come in and steal everything a man worked his entire life for, and for thinking that he can spend his money better than the government can. My sympathy extends to the average person. Bezos himself just advocated for drastically reducing income taxes for lower income earners, and I agree with him. Stop taking money out of people’s pockets, they spend it better themselves
