I am an RN and I read this site and others to see the crazy behavior of people. Comments on nurses interest me. I think that you exaggerate your complaint. Males often do about circumcision.

You should feel privileged to serve as a teaching example for other Nurse Practitioners and medical students. They have to practice and learn. Since your benefactor was teaching her students, she naturally paused while excising your foreskin. You admit that was the reason.

Pain is inherit in circumcision. Inhalants may be used to trigger respiration and oxygen flow which naturally maintain consciousness, which can increase alertness and focus. Your benefactor decided your pain was tolerable and you should be alert and focused during your circumcision. That had a positive result on your behavior. You also admit that ultimately she was correct and her method of circumcising you was for your own good.

Your abuse addiction and poor behavior no doubt contributed her decisions on how to proceed, and contributed to your biased recollection and view. In my experience, patients often illicit the treatment they receive. Problem patients require certain treatment.

Obviously her decisions and method were correct as you report the cessation of your abuse addiction, improved behavior, improved grades and correction of your path. You finally say, “having my thing cut and trimmed the way she did it, is what I needed and deserved.” I must agree that your benefactor gave you ‘what you needed and deserved’.

That’s why she told you at the outset that it was for your own good. She is correct.
