In a world where everyone likes to wear the mild to moderate mental health diagnoses on their sleeves, like some sort of fashion accesory. In a world where everyone constantly self-diagnoses everything from adhd to ocd, people who throw around terms like depression and anxiety without really knowing what those terms mean.
In a world where being just mentally ill enough but not so mentally ill that it’s noticeable is trendy, people with personality disorders and dissasociative disorders are left isolated, cast out, misunderstood, demonised, and feared. Narcississts, bipolar, borderline, adhd, disassociative identity disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, complext ptsd, Generalized anxiety disorder, even major depression, these are not trendy fashion accesories, in the best cases they get in your way but you can manage a somewhat normal life with treatment, in the worst cases, depending on your diagnosis, you are branded with a scarlet letter and treated like either an idiot, an alien, a criminal, or some combination of the above, doomed to forever be misunderstood and scapegoated.
