I cut off my parents 3 years ago when I hit 18 years old because they were physically and emotionally abusive for as long as I remember. My relatives found out and sided with me. My parents outed me to them (I’m from a Muslim family), and they all went and disowned me. To this day, I’m too ashamed to tell my friends & acquaintances that not a single member of my family accepts me.
