Inflation is hitting everyone because of the Federal Reserve printing printing so much money. Getting your own place is an option. Or negotiate a better deal, convince them to get employment and/or to have you manage an investment program for them for which you charge a fee.
Be inventive. Look at housing options. Mobile home, apartment, etc.
