I grew up in a country and then women were for marrying and producing children. Not so much now, but back then definitely. All women wanted was to get married and produce children, no one complained and if you happened to have met some woman who worked you felt sorry for her. We married young, usually to an older man who was already set and able to support a house and we were happy in our homes. No one complained, unless they had a husband who was out of work or otherwise didn’t take care of his family, alcoholics or such, then you complained but your family took you in. None of the women I knew cheated on their husbands, and some husbands had indiscretions but kept them away from the home. When I was around thirty five I cried and my husband said he still chose me. At forty five he had an indiscretion.

My daughters have a very different life, today if women do not work the house cannot be maintained even if the man has a good job. My daughters cannot stay home. My daughters never want to talk it. Their children are in schools or stay with me. They say I am old fashioned. I am not so sure, I have my grandchildren with me because they need love in a home, a school just does not give them that. I wish my daughters stayed home. If they need money they should hide their shame and go ask their father to help them, it is better to have a little bit of shame and take care of their home. I don’t understand them.
