I don’t know what to do. My best friend’s 5 year old daughter told me that her 13 year old brother is touching her “down there”. I stupidly promised her I wouldn’t tell her parents, but I think I should. My best friend will be devastated. Should I just ignore it? This 5 year old does have a wild imagination and the boy is always so polite and helpful. Advice please.

You should definetly warn her parents, these sorts of things can often lead to problems as an adult so best to sort it out as soon as possible.

As much as I hate breaking a young girl’s trust, I have to tell her mom. My best friend and I go out to lunch every Monday, so tomorrow is when I will tell her. I feel so bad- I hate to give upsetting news. I’ve known my best friend since we were 2. What if she doesn’t want to ever see me again? I’m nervous but I got to do the right thing and tell her.
She’d definetly want you to tell her, the situation is not your fault at all and you’re trying to help with everyone’s best interest in mind. It’s the best you can do.
