I made a searching and fearless moral inventory of myself over the last year. I lied to my parents and to two of my second cousins roughly a year ago. I had been fired from my job (Miraculously my employer offered me my job back a few months after). The lie I told was that I was fired for keeping a ring I found during a big house clean-out (everything was destined for the landfill), and had not disclosed this ring to my employer before returning it to the client the following day. The truth is I was fired for taking an envelope of money a co-worker and I had found on a separate occasion, split it, and out of guilt I replaced my co-workers half with my own money and returned it to the client two days later. I am sorry for my stupid decision, this is my fault. I feel awful.
