We have chickens. I heard the babies screaming and went up there to check out why they were screaming. They were lost and I caught one and put it with the other chicks who are a bit bigger. I asked my brother to watch the one since it was smaller. I went up in hopes to get the other two chicks but one got scared and flew down into our driveway. i heard it scream and i prayed that my dog had not gotten it. unfortunately it did and it was dead. I feel responsible for ots death even though I just wanted to help them find a safe place overnight. I took the one chick I had put with the others back up to the chicken coop with its sister/brother. The mom was there doing nothing. This kind of incident has happened before with one of the chicks stuck in a bowl all night long with no food. I wish I could have avoided this and I feel so bad.
