Kurt Cobain did not kill himself and Courtney Love had nothing to do with his death but she knew what happened shortly after he died and helped to somewhat cover it up.

First of all Kurt died on the night of April 3rd/Morning of April 4th 1994 not on the 5th.
After returning to Seattle Kurt hit up one of his contacts about getting some H. Which wouldn’t be around/available for a day or so. But on the night of April 3rd the dealer (name withheld) arrived. When he got to the house Kurt did not answer the door he was instead in the Green House where he would go to be alone. Kurt called the dealer up. The dealer came into the green house to talk to Kurt (he knew Kurt and Courtney well). After a brief conversation the two came down and entered the house going into the living room. Kurt turned on the TV and went to the kitchen asking the dealer if he wanted a drink which he said yes to. Kurt came back with 2 cans of Root beer and sat down, they had a short conversation about the H which the dealer had an abundance of with him. After awhile of mundane conversations Kurt shot up while watching late night TV with the Dealer cracking jokes about the bad infomercials. A hour or so goes by and the dealer falls asleep in the living room as Kurt is riding the high and has become somewhat uncoherent. Which is no big deal since the Dealer had done it before.

Some hours later the Dealer wakes up with the tv blaring to see Kurt slumped over. He walked over to Kurt and felt his hand which was cold. Knowing Kurt was dead and the fact he can’t call the police because he was the provider of the H the dealer then called Courtney and or someone who could get a hold of her. After awhile Courtney called and was told Kurt had overdosed and was dead. Cali who lived with the Cobain’s was called to go to the house and help the dealer with the situation. That’s when the plan to shoot him with his shotgun came to they needed to stage it as a suicide or else Kurt would have just been another Dead Rockstar from an OD. Knowing he was dead and there was nothing she could do Courtney wanted it to be a sensational as possible. “Young American Rockstar Icon ends own life at height of career” was said at some point to get the point across.

The Night of April 4th Cali and the Dealer moved Kurt’s body from the house to the Greenhouse above the garage there they laid down Kurt and rolled his sleeves down to not show the track mark. Looking through a few note books which were later taken with them they found was seemed to sound like a Suicide note. The Dealer said to Cali that nothing mentions death in the writings Cali replied “Just make something up” and giving him some ideas the dealer then wrote the famous suicide lines at the bottom of the page. Knocked over a plant and stuck the pen through the paper into the soil. After awhile of working up the courage Cali loaded the shot gun and places the box near Kurt. Cali then places the barrel in Kurt’s mouth as he was holding it standing over Kurt looking down at his face Cali pulled the trigger busting Kurt’s front teeth expecting a lot of blood they were surprised not a lot came out and not a whole lot of damage was shown.

Cali and The dealer stood around for awhile somewhat in shock of what has happened. Cali collecting himself realized drugs would show in his system so he ran out going to the house grabbing some items such as Kurt’s H kit that was on the table of the living room, his wallet and the can of root beer he was drinking. laying them all near him and leaving his DL on his opened wallet.

Locking the door as they left they called Courtney to let her know it was all done she told them to leave the home as is and just get as far away as they can. She would then go on to report Kurt as missing pretending to be Kurt’s mother and well the rest is history.
