“Hey, Mum, I just got chosen for this large-scale conference on Global Issues at school. It’s a United Nations modelled conference, I’m so excited.”

“Okay.”

At least f****** pretend to be happy for me. You never support my choices, you act like you’re never proud of me just f****** stop. Act like the mother who would congratulate me by throwing some sort of elaborate yet unnecessary dinner, brag to your friends about my so little achievements, and say that you’re so very proud of me. I am tired of seeing that you obviously don’t care and every time I complain you always tell me to shut up. What child would you f****** want, then! One that has no education and can’t read whatsoever? Other parents would be pleased to see that their son or daughter is doing well. I want you to be supportive. I’ve never been asked “how’s it going?” Or “are you okay?” Well f*** okay, I’m sick of this crap, I don’t have the time now that I’m caught with these amazing, worthy involvements that you will never see valuable.
