I told a friend I can’t hang out with him because it hurts too much that he’s talking to my ex girlfriend. Who lives with me still. He stopped talking to her and now she’s crying and feeling so bad. I feel so ashamed and guilty for doing that to her that I just want to drown

She has nowhere to go and just started nursing school. We have a 2year old and I can’t just kick her out. I still care deeply for her and I think it’s an investment in a otherwise good person and my child’s future. But damn it hurts seeing her with other guys. Even if she does try her best to be respectful
