Some people just invited themselves over to my house on Halloween. I didn’t tell them not to come because I don’t want to start any drama. I hate drama and it makes me anxious. But now my first Halloween in my own house with my husband is going to be dampened by a bunch of freeloaders. I need to stop being a doormat.

Don’t listen to them ↑ If you don’t want people at your house then no matter how much it may make you anxious you need to stand up for yourself and don’t just brush it off as no big deal. Think about it their in your home and it’s your property and you have the right to kick them off of your property if you so choose. Inforce that power and tell them to please leave. I don’t know the full situation but that’s what I would do.
