So, my 31 year old sister has this little mini poodle who is a total sweetheart. He ADORES her, and I have no idea why because she isn’t that nice to him.
She gets home from work. He’s SO GLAD to see her! He barks and yips happily, he jumps around and leaps and wags. He reaches up and begs for her to pet him, to notice him, and his little claws scratch her a bit. Instead of petting him, she yells at him and tells him to stop because he’s hurting her. She shoves him away. Well, if she would have him properly groomed his nails wouldn’t be so long and it wouldn’t hurt! She’s had him groomed TWICE in the almost two years she’s had him. She rarely bathes him. Usually it’s our mom that bathes him even though he belongs to my sister. His coat is matted and dirty. He’s a poodle! He needs regular grooming! The ONLY REASON he has flea treatment is because our cousin felt sorry for the poor dog and bought him an expensive flea collar.
My sister doesn’t feed the dog regularly. He’s timid and for some reason was afraid of food when we got him. If we hand feed him he’ll eat, but does my sister care? No. She’ll let him go days without eating, and then ask in her half asleep way, “Did anybody feed the dog today?” Of course we try to make sure he eats. We, at least, care that he doesn’t starve.
The bad thing is that she still claims him as HER Dog. HERS. If someone else shoves him away or yells at him, YOU BETTER NOT MISTREAT MY DOG! But she does the same damn thing! She’s a horrible pet owner, ALWAYS HAS BEEN. Maybe it’s a blessing from God that she’s not able to have children, because I guarantee she wouldn’t take care of them. When I have a child she is NOT BABYSITTING, EVER.
