I fear what my parents might say if I tell them about my interest in pagan religions. They are christian (and surprisingly liberal and excepting, especially of the LGBT community, for baptists) and are very good people, and I love them, but… I just don’t know how they would react if I asked them to buy me books on the topic.
The thought terrifies me to the core.

I can see why you may be scared to ask. I am a pagan myself, coming from a Jewish family. Tell them you are fascinated by other religions, and you are not converting or doubting their/your religion, you are just interested in pagan religions and want to learn more. You’d be surprised. They may actually encourage you! It is important to explore other religions and beliefs before you can be sure of you religious beliefs and what religion you truly want to accept as your own.
