I’m a fairly prominent member of an online community where I constantly post about dude stuff like heavy metal, horror movies, and pro wrestling, and I’ve amassed a decently sized social media following because of this. I love that stuff and always have.
Nobody knows, or even suspects, that I’m actually a tiny little 5’0″, 95lb Asian girl. I hide this deliberately because it’s like 99% dudes and I know they’d treat me differently. I’ve seen it happen a bunch of times. There are many cool dudes but a lot of creeps too, who swarm on every girl who signs up to the forums – either to try to get with her, or to try to white-knight her against the creeps. Especially the ones with a race fetish. Nobody hits on me when they think I’m a guy, nobody’s afraid to argue with me or sugarcoat what they say when they think I’m a guy, and nobody thinks it’s weird that some of my biggest interests are Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Enslaved, and Dean Ambrose, when they think I’m a guy. Sometimes though, I just want to post a picture of myself and blow their minds.
