This is gross, but true…
I am a 34-year-old male. I STILL have acne on my face, scalp, chest, and back. I pop at least 40 small pimples per day, mainly the ones on my scalp. When I am driving, I have a hand at the back of my head pretty much the whole time, searching for small pimples to pop. It’s been like this since I was 12. I’ve been to over 15 dermatologists, and they all tell me the same thing: there’s nothing they can do to help. It’s some special, chronic form of acne that’s very rare.
About four years ago I got so desperate that I agreed to try accutane, which causes almost all of your oil glands to shrink, including the internal ones at your joints. Within a week of starting it, I could not get out of bed because my knees literally wouldn’t bend anymore. It took another two weeks to recover from that.
Since then, I haven’t tried anything else. I just accept that this is a part of my life now.
