I have a couple of friends who’ve gone transgendered, which I’m totally alright with.
But they start talking about their right to medical care to help with their changing of genders, and all I can think about is how I don’t want hormone therapy and the like funded by public dollars.
I know it’s very important to them, but there are so many people with actual life-threatening issues. I think they should be getting the publicly funded medical insurance to help if they can’t afford. If a man feels he needs to become a woman, he/she needs to get private insurance to pay for it, or pay for it him/herself. The U.S. health care system is too expensive for the country to be wasting money on voluntary, non-life-threatening procedures, regardless of how psychologically fulfilling they are.
