I started seeing you because it was convenient. We gave each other what we wanted. I knew our time was limited when you started screwing your roommate – an open relationship won’t survive that kind of proximity. I told you I never wanted to see you again after you ended it. Jilted, maybe – you expected me to be your friend afterward. I’d wanted to be, but the way you ended it was hard for me, and I didn’t want that in my life.

Then you message me. Out of spite? Maybe. I think I detected some of it in your writing. You didn’t expect to lose me, did you?

I decided to take the risk and tell you that I can’t be your friend because I love you – but you weren’t at work and at home your new guy stood between us and it was awkward. I was angry, I admit. You were both afraid, but I wasn’t going to do anything nuts. I shouted at you to meet me at my house tomorrow after work so I could tell you and let you have your say.

Instead you emailed me and threatened to have me charged for stalking.
After I told you I never wanted to see you again.
I thought you were better than that. You don’t deserve my love, you crazy ding bat.
