So, I’m barely into my second year of high school, and I’ve already pretty much promised my life to someone; I’m madly in love with him and genuinely want to spend the rest of my life with him and have children with him and a house in the mountains…but I’m afraid of getting married. I guess I would call myself a hopeless romantic who’s becoming more and more of a realist every day. Mu fear is based on the two thoughts: becoming vulnerable, and having to trust that my true self will be enough to keep him; and that if we did get married, he’d be marrying the wrong girl. I say this because of how terribly insecure I feel whenever I look at my friend and her boyfriend and how in love they seem to be. I envy how freely she shows her affection without a moment’s thought of being rejected.
