I have just finished writing a “fan-fiction” story (I suppose you could call it that). I’m nearly 30 years old, and this *masterpiece* stands at nearly 100,000 words. That’s ten times as long as my dissertation for my Psychology degree, which unsurprisingly, I am not using in my current job.
It was also infinitely more enjoyable to write and read, and is a lot better than said dissertation.
