[A letter for my husband who said he was bored and not having any fun in our marriage anymore.]
“I’m sorry you are bored and don’t have fun anymore. I never meant to be incapable of reversing such horrible feelings. Where do we go from here. Is this fixable at all. Or is this where things really start to fall apart? Is this the point where I’m supposed to admit it’s all my fault bc I don’t do things the way other wives and mothers would. I apologize for knowing what I should do and choosing not to. And I am also sorry you are choosing to feel like I am choosing our daughters over you and that you must now do the same to me. Eye for an eye right? I honestly don’t know what to say or how to fix anything because the damage seems to have been done. As actions speak louder than words I suppose if that’s all we are really supposed to operate on then I think from those aspects alone whatever this is between us has reached a dissolving point. If I can’t make you happy or be your source of joy then what is this relationship? It is heartbreaking how you feel and really just shocked me to the point of reevaluating what we are even doing anymore. I don’t want to be just surface. If we have a relationship where we “appear” happy to everyone else but are in fact not happy – it’s a lie. And it’s really not fair to either of us. So as for me I am willing to walk away if I need to. Anything to keep you happy. Believe it or not I want you happy and not bored or not ever having any fun. You obviously need someone who understands and respects you better than I ever could. And I wonder if part of you wants to walk away as well.”
