I have never confessed this to anyone and to some it might not seem like a big deal, but it made me feel terrible at the time. I was in a chat room. We were discussing the shuttle that blew up – the one that killed the teacher. I made a terrible joke about the tragedy – I won’t repeat it here. What I didn’t know is that one of the people in the chat room knew that teacher personally. At first I thought that person was just trying to make me feel bad, but I later learned it was true. For me to joke about something so awful is wrong on every possible level and I am very sorry for it. I apologized to the guy but understandably the apology wasn’t accepted. There is no way to take it back, and for that I am very regretful.
