I’m home. The place I want to be. I also live in a beautiful home. Financially secure. I am exactly what I want to be professionally and it keeps getting better all the time. I’m enjoying my life. All the years of being called ‘idealistic’ because I wouldn’t let go of that something that told me I would be and do something special. The harrassment because the people around me insisted I needed to ‘get real’ and do things the ‘right way’. You know why this happened? Because even in the times I didn’t know how what I wanted would come to me, I never let go of knowing that it would. I could always be okay with sitting back and letting the blanks fill in by themselves. Did I know or think I would come by it all the way it has? Of course not. No one has a crystal ball to know what will and won’t happen with anything. But believing it will and getting excited about it sure beats walking around bitching about every little thing you think is going wrong with your life. I never forget to say thank you for what is. Even the little things. I never forget to take those few moments to see, think about or notice the beautiful things around me. Think about it. Would you hand anything over to a spoiled brat of a child that is never grateful for anything he or she receives no matter how extravagant or is it easier to do so with the child that never forgets to genuinely say thank you? I know it’s not about proving anyone wrong but it sure feels good to show people what the deliberate choice to choose to always keep with the vision rather than what’s right in front of you can do. For whatever reason, it’s the way I’m wired. And it was people like my mom and my ex who liked to try and make their fears and doubts my personal point of view that made me cling to my vision that much more. They’re still mad. Even madder. And me, I stayed happy. And I just got happier!
