Anyone else getting royally sick of the “zany white girl” stereotype that’s all over commercials and tv shows these days? I think Flo from Progressive started the trend but now this character is freaking EVERYWHERE. She’s white, she’s slightly zany and silly enough that people are supposed to view her as ‘lovably dorky’, but still attractive. She uses internet and popular slang and sounds awkward but I guess she’s supposed to still be cute and funny when she does it? I’m so sick of this.

When people act like this in real life it’s annoying, unless it’s actually their real personality I’ve known a couple people who are actually funny/weird and you know what? They’re not the popular bombshells that the media makes them out to be. People tend to scoff at them and look down on them. When popular, pretty girls act like this they’re most likely just trying hard to be the stereotype because it’s trendy.

It’s like in highschool when the cheerleaders act like idiots then giggle at their own antics and proclaim, “OMG we’re such dorks! Hahaha aren’t we so unique and cool and ironic!”

I know I’m nitpicking, but this is a huge pet peeve. And I don’t even watch T.V. This is just from the commercials and movies I’ve seen lately. It’s gotta be ten times worse on tv shows.
