An apprentice once asked me how do I get my body used to pain or damage? hmm ponder. You don’t get used to the pain, pain hurts but it helps if you put your body into positions it normally wouldn’t achieve unless a greater force was applied.

Repetition builds muscle, I showed my apprentice how to lift something that by law he had the right to ask a hand with. 19 years of age and just mustering 25kgs, 25 kgs is nothing. When I was apprenticed we had no maximum weight allowance or cold extremities.

If it’s freezing then crack the ice with a hammer or hand, no lie when I was 16 I was cracking an old water b*** open with my hand then plunging a car inner tube into it checking for leaks.

How do I lift what you lift? just f****** do it. You’ll get hurt but pain heals unless you’re made of sugar. Are you made of sugar? anyway I’m 5 foot 7 and my record for lifting single handed is 127kgs verified.

A 4 man lift, jesh, one man me on the lift because I’m f****** fantastic, sorry was f****** fantastic. It was a fire door including the frame and I’ve to teach snotty nosed kids how to lift stuff that a bit heavy for them, well boo hoo get mummy to give me a sick note.
