Watching Very Scary People last night, a new episode featuring Israel Keyes. I was surprised that show pulled a punch. First time I ever saw that show pull a punch. They have no problem describing the crimes of Denis Rader or John Wayne Gayce or the Hillside Strangler but when it came to describing Keyes abusing and killing animals, with regards to the cat he killed after capturing it digging through garbage with the kids of the family who was staying with his family, the show said he caught the cat, brought it into the woods, tied it to the tree, it died and the kids he was with were throwing up, traumatized.

Yeah… you forgot to mention that he tied the cat to the tree, shot it in the stomach non fatally, watched it run around the tree stunned, ran into the tree, threw up and Keyes in his own words laughed while the kids he was with were vomiting, traumatized…. and of course they at least mentioned the important part about the incident, it was when he realized that it was not normal to think and do the things he was doing. Most people do not do those kinds of things without a conscience. I just thought that was an interesting detail they left out and I wondered why they would do it with that specific detail? They could have just left it out entirely, but then they would need to skip over the important detail about the shift and realization that his way of thinking was not normal to most people. They have no problem talking about and showing re relations of the Hillside Stranglers injecting Windex into a teenage girl and gassing her with a bag over her head while she’s doing convulsions? I don’t get it.
