I have two friends. God (who many claim doesn’t exist and who I can’t physically have a conversation with) and my Mom (but that’s debatable, especially considering half the time she calls me a b**** and the other half only wants to talk about her, and never me). This isn’t anything major, I guess. But I daily feel alone. Not lonely for company, although there’s that too. None of the friendships I’ve had in the past were real relationships. I listened to those people, held them when they cried, and spent a good deal of time and money on them only to be.ditched, ignored, and eventually betrayed through lies and disloyalty. I have always had burdens of family issues, bullying, and anxiety with no one to discuss any of it with. Each scar on my heart was healed by me. No one has been by my side, encouraging me or holding my hand. I have been mocked or called a complainer any time I’ve tried to simply express my hurt. I think people assume I want someone to fix my problems or coddle me. No. I just want to be heard. Held. I want someone to listen and sympathize with me as I.have done for others. I am now in counseling, upon the divorce of my parents. But I think we can all agree that this is not the same thing. A counselor has to hear me out and at least attempt to listen to me. They get paid a nice parcel of my cash to put up with my voice for an hour every week. If I could put out an ad for what I’m needing, it would go like this: Seeking a man or woman, boy or girl, gay or straight, religious or non, likes coffee and all great music, believes in human rights, justice, the arts, education, and loves adventure. Up for casual chats, attending concerts, plays, lectures, galleries, and going on road trips. Is kind, oyal, intelligent, witty, and 100% their own person. So much so that if they hate all of the crap I just wrote, they would tell me. Pure of heart. Genuinely likes me and enjoys doing xyz with me. A friend. A friend for a punk like me.
