I admire those born into substantial wealth because they don’t have to work and brown nose for a living. Deep down, those of us who have to work know that our lifestyles can change overnight. We depend on a need for our skills and we are minimally rewarded. I think we trick ourselves into feeling happy by telling ourselves that our employment is stable, but it’s not. And the older we get, the scarier the thought of having to return to the workforce. I no longer interested in my field. I’m not fulfilled nor motivated by it anymore but I have to do it to survive. I grin and bear it to barely pay bills while the uber wealthy live as they please with all of the trappings. I’m so envious.
