To the writers about Employers’ obligations during MCO, clearly the both of you are not in this current situation where you find yourself scrapping the bottom of the barrel.
Being a customer, you get what you paid for, that’s what everyone understands it. You paid RM 5 for a chicken burger, then you shall receive a chicken burger, not just bread. Is it fair for you to pay RM5 for a burger and then receive bread just because the chicken patty ran out? or the police came in and say close everything, so you don’t get the burger and I pocket the money.
As a employer, paying 2000 ringgits are no different from your 5 ringgit burger. Is it fair for employers to pay the money for nothing? It’s one thing to work from home, that is like getting a fish burger instead, different from what you want but heck you still fill your tummy. But paying for no work done? Come you pay me 2000 per month while I go do some other jobs.
It’s unfair to people currently working, they have to put in the effort to be paid. it’s unfair to people who is unemployed, both of them are not working but one is getting paid. it’s unfair to the employers, no work done, but still have to pay.
The ones rejoicing right now is only employed workers who only see this as an extended holiday. Some sees it as the time to go out to drive grab, delivery etc, earning extra money, woopee, while collecting salary. Praying that the MCO continues cause who doesn’t want to get paid for no work.
