I listed something for sale on craigslist for 70o.00 (the item is brand new and this is less than half the retail value). I desperately, desperately need the money. Someone agreed to buy it so I took the listing down and even had to turn down another buyer. Two weeks later it turns out to be a scammer. Luckily I recognized it before I cashed the 2000.00 check and got myself in even deeper financial trouble.

Now I feel so violated, so stupid. Even though I didn’t fall for it I feel like I’ve been preyed upon. I had hope that some money was going to come through and things were going to get just a little easier. But now? Bills are piling up, I’m out of work, overdrawn in the bank… and some evil thief just tried to take advantage of me. Why does this stuff always happen to me? Things just keep going downhill.
