I have a co worker who we will call Bill. Bill is a narcissistic pathological liar that views women as objects. I’m no white knight, but the kind of talk that comes from someone that views women as objects is appalling. Like I’m a guy, I get talking about how hot women are and the likes. But there’s a respectful way to do that. So naturally this guy annoys me. And I’ve let on that I dont appreciate that kind of talk and that I absolutely do not agree with him. Yet he still comes to me and brags about his behavior with women and how he treats them. It’s infuriating. But, being who I am as a person and realizing doing anything more than what I have done to curb his behavior around me will result more negatively and possibly make my work environment more toxic. Its not worth the risk. Because there are other factors in play. Bill is related to the owner. The owner has already displayed that he doesn’t care about what people have to say in regards to bill. Or bills cousin who works at another store that I’ve worked at. If I go to HR, it’ll get back to Bill. And bill will know who exactly filed the report. Not because they told him but because he knows I don’t like him. And since he’s basically bulletproof he will then go out of his way to make my work life a living hell. Because that’s just the kind of douche he is. And I know I could just transfer to another store or quit. But it pays well and it’s so close to home. The next closest store would be the one with the cousin which is not better. After that it’s a three hour drive. It’s pays well but it doesn’t pay well enough for that drive or to relocate. So I just have to put up with this guy till I graduate in two years. Fingers crossed I don’t “accidentally” hurt him.
