When a friend is addicted to drugs, people hold an intervention. When a friend is addicted to food, nobody does anything, even though food is slowly killing your friend. Why don’t we take overeating as seriously as drug addiction? Both of my best friends are morbidly obese and they’re both under 30, but they have bad cholesterol, PCOS (which is exacerbated by being overweight), hypertension, one had her gallbladder removed and they each take like 2 or 3 different meds for these issues. I posted about my friend using her zodiac sign as an excuse for her s*** eating habits (Taurus apparently enjoy junk), and someone told me I was a horrible, fake friend for talking s*** about my friend behind their back on here. But guess what? I’m a great f****** friend! I want my friends to be happy! And healthy! They are neither! I lost a bunch of weight myself (70lbs) & I don’t understand how my friends can just let their bodies fall to ruin like they have. My one friend is over 300lbs. I want her to be here for a long time. I’ve tried to help, encourage, inspire, support, but nothing changes. I feel like I’m watching my friends die, and nobody cares.
