When I was younger, I beat someone senseless because they stole from me while helping me move. I recovered all of my things before hand. I feel terrible because I had everything back and I let my anger get the best of me when I should’ve turned the other cheek and just stayed away from the guy. Lately my past has been haunting me and I’m losing sleep over it. I don’t feel like I deserve the great life I now have because of the way I treated others before. At that time I was poverty stricken, and could barely afford to eat every day, and now I have a good job, a nice home, and a beautiful fiancee. Now I can’t find this person to apologize and maybe help him get his life on track. This isn’t the only incident either. In my early twenties I was a total villain. I bullied people around while putting on the facade that I was just a normal nice guy. I put distance between myself and my family so that they wouldn’t find out what kind of person I actually was. I screwed people over, I never paid off my debts, and I ran the streets doing things that I now wouldn’t do to my worst enemies. It feels like being good and honest now doesn’t make up for what I was.
