So my grandfather is going to give several thousand liars worth of Civil War relics (about 20,000 to 50,000 worth) to a money grubbing family member. This family member last caused drama by saying he wanted a third of the house after my grandfather’s death, something his (now deceased) father did not want him to insist upon because it would be impossible for my mother to pay him this amount of money. (About 50,000) it’d essentially put my mom on the streets since she’d have to then give a third to another person if that happened.

The relics have some sentimental value and to make matters worse the money grabber has married into a LOT of money and his mother is wealthy as well. He lives in a house worth half a million dollars and has several hundred thousand in the bank. This as whole is just going to sell them for his daughters’ “college fund”, something that will be and never has been a hardship for them to fill. The only reason they have any difficulty is because they’re planning for an ivy league education for all of their kids. Meanwhile I’m working full time and am $30,000 in debt for my education. I don’t want the relics for money, but I hate the idea of them being sold away for a bunch of rich kids to get richer.
