I shouldn’t care what you think. My life is my business. But I’m dreading telling you that I have plans this weekend, and that I won’t be at home so we can chat online. I know at the least you’ll catch an attitude and pull your passive-aggressive ‘poor me’ act, as though I should feel guilty for doing anything fun. At worst you’ll straight up confront me and accuse me of never having any time for you. The fact that I know you’ll do it, and that you have no basis for it other than your own selfishness should make me pissed off enough that I won’t let it effect me.
But even though I know I shouldn’t care, I still get anxiety when I think about it. I still feel worried and guilty even when I shouldn’t. I still let you and your obsessive, emotional leeching get the best of me and ruin my enjoyment of life.
I hate the control you have over me. I wish I knew how to break it.
