I work in a very low-paying but fulfilling field. Except I do it because I enjoy it, not because I need the money. My wife makes more than enough to support us both, but I need a reason to get out of the house in the morning.

This has led to a lot of problems at work. My coworkers will b**** about having to pay for small things out-of-pocket, like office supplies, and I’m throwing around cash like it’s no big deal. Because it isn’t. For me.

I don’t mean to come across as arrogant to my coworkers. But I know they resent me. They resent that I don’t have to kiss the boss’s a**, because she can fire me any time and I’ll be ok. I’m doing her a favor by working there.
