My abs were hard, but his punches were strong. Though I flexed as hard as I could to keep from getting winded, though it worked for a while, I wore out before he did. My abs collapsed, and his next punch sunk deep into me, making me fall to my knees, unable to breathe. It was the most humbling experience of my life. Six pack abs are revered by society. They’re seen as bulletproof. But he wanted to show me that even a six pack can get softened up by the right person, and he was that for me.
