I didn’t grow up exactly in the best family but I had a mom who had me late in life and struggled to provide for us my whole life. She tried the best she knew how, I’ll give her that. A lot of traumatizing s*** happened throughout my childhood, even r*** by a family member. But that’s not the most traumatic thing I’ve ever experienced. The most traumatic thing was watching my mother (who was chronically ill from medicine after having breast cancer and suffering severe radiation burns) just piss in the living room floor in front of me and my grown brother. Like no warning or anything, just stopped in the hallway of our falling apart trailer, kinda halfway squatted, and just *pissed* straight into the carpet. It was so much. And it was so aggressive? It was very loud and just the shear force of it hitting the ground was something I’ll never forget. I was only like 12 at the time. She never said anything about it. I don’t know why that was so traumatic but it was.
